Carmelita Douglas, Interim Executive Director

The Youngstown Metropolitan Housing Authority (YMHA) will continue to build better communities and better serve them while embracing change. Rehabilitation projects at the Brier Hill, Norton Manor, and Victory Estates developments will afford residents the opportunity to live in newly renovated, energy efficient homes. Through the receipt of Tax Credits and community partnerships, Westlake Terrace, one of the oldest developments in the country, will be transformed into The Village at Arlington.
With the award of several grants, YMHA is changing the face of public housing, increasing safety and providing programs for residents to achieve self- sufficiency. However, with the upcoming budget allocations, it is imperative that fiscal austerity is maintained and innovative approaches are utilized to continue to provide the same quality of customer service to our residents and Housing Choice Voucher participants.
